Neurological Rehabilitation Unit

Enham Trust plans to build a Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (NRU)

Currently in development, replacing the historic Cedar Park site on our Home Estate in the picturesque village of Enham Alamein, our exciting plans for a Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) are taking shape: marking a truly significant step-change in the way we deliver care and services to disabled people across the country, supporting people to live as independently as possible.

Our ambitious plans to create a 14 bed NRU, coupled with the development of 95 new accessible homes, will see a previously unmet need for intensive rehabilitative services realised for people who need neurological treatment.

Our NRU will treat people who have suffered damage to their nervous system; including brain injury and strokes, either acquired through accident, or from a neurological illness or virus.

The benefits of long-term rehabilitation

Long-term rehabilitation is essential to a person’s recovery after any kind of neurological damage, and our unique NRU will not only see patients treated for the physical effects of brain injury, but the often debilitating psychological aspects also; ensuring that they live as independently, and happily, as possible following their injury.

Achieving social and economic independence

Here at Enham Trust, we have been supporting disabled people in their journey to achieving greater independence for almost 100 years; enabling our clients to make a seamless transition from 24 hour supported living, to living independently in one of our award-winning, fully accessible homes.

Supporting our clients in the cornerstone areas of their lives, we also help our clients to gain qualifications, find sustained employment, and employ their own Personal Assistants.

Transferring our skills and expertise in this area to our NRU, set to open in 2017, our aim is to support our patients during every step of their recovery; eventually settling into a home of their own that has been adapted to their new needs, and finding a job, all within one idyllic location.
