As part of our Information Advice and Guidance Service Enham Trust supports disabled people to employ their own staff. This vacancy is not a role within Enham Trust but an excellent opportunity to work directly for one of our customers.

Job Overview:

To work independently as part of a team of PA’s to support a 70 year old gentleman who has spinal cord injury at C3 with all aspects of his personal care, clinical needs, social activities and hobbies.The client takes an active role developing his hobby of engineering and is keen to recruit a personal assistant who would have similar interests.  


Full time to include days/ waking nights and weekends on a 4 weekly shift pattern.

Main Duties:

You will provide clinical and personal care, emotional and social support, health monitoring with relevant responses, maintaining personal safety and administering medications. You will be trained in the clinical interventions required to do the job. 

All applicants need to be 25 years or older, due to the vehicle insurance policy requirements and happy to drive his disability van to enable him to get out in the community. 

We are looking for someone that would be available for annual holidays and weekend trips. This may involve some overnight camping.

Ideal Candidate:

It is not essential that you have experience in care and support but essential attributes include empathy, enthusiasm, a calm approach, willingness to learn to be able to adapt and follow instruction. We are looking for someone that can offer reliability and flexibility in a changing situation. 

You will work independently as a member of an experienced and competent team. You will receive full support during induction from the employer and her team, during which you will receive full training in all aspects of clinical and other duties. You will work in a lively home, with pets, where everyone works well together. Support is primarily provided within the home, which is adapted. Respect for the employer's space and privacy is essential.

We would like someone who would occasionally be available to cover a 12 hour shift if needed and there would be the opportunity to join the team for annual holidays and weekend trips. This may involve some overnight camping.
