What we are looking for
Volunteers are needed to run our cafe for people using our services, visitors and staff. As a member of the café Volunteer Team you will provide a welcoming and approachable greeting and provide outstanding customer service. Ideally you will enjoy working with both adults and children in an environment that can get busy and have compassion for people with disabilities who use the café for a social environment.
Reporting to the Enham Trust Café supervisor, the volunteer Café Assistant will support in providing refreshments and food whilst maintaining the hygiene and health and safety of the kitchen and serving area. The role will also involve supporting trainees to carry out basic catering services.
What you will be doing
Supporting café staff, volunteers and trainees in the day to day running of the café.
Support trainees to carry out basic catering tasks including food preparation, cleaning and serving food to customers and clients.
Working with the Café supervisor to ensure relevant paperwork is completed and checks are carried out ensuring compliance against relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
Report any issues or concerns immediately to the café Manager
Working with staff to develop menus and daily specials boards.
Ensuring kitchen and café are left clean and tidy and waste is discarded safely.
Provide good customer service to café clients.
